CHALLENGE 10 Peace for the EXTM Challenge 10 for the EX is produced by the Youth Alliance Program, an initiative that has sought to help change the attitudes of the Guatemalan public toward young people who are trying to leave gang life behind, by providing these youth with marketable skills to operate legitimate businesses with the help of private-sector mentors. It’s also an effort to provide role models and motivate young people to not enter gang life and help reduce gang violence that has gripped Guatemala. Challenge 10 is a Youth Alliance Program “reality show” that is funded in part by the U.S. Agency for International Development and implemented by Creative Associates International, Inc. along with its partners Grupo Rec, INRESA, New Vision and Casa de Dios. Challenge 10—Peace for the EX first aired in spring 2006 to rave reviews in the international media.
