CONTESTANTS
Librarian, California, Mexican Boy, Carpenter, New York, Baker, Painter, Promoter, Dry and Chejo: Ten ex-gang members, originally young people from four different gangs, who take on the challenge to form two teams which compete to launch a competing business in 14 days. Two Guatemalan entrepreneurs are their mentors. During this period, the mentors share their experiences so that in spite of the participants’ low levels of education, these young people can turn their lives around and go on to become legitimate business people with the economic resources and skills needed to get their start.
